Who We Are

Smile Train is the world’s largest cleft charity. Millions of children in developing countries with untreated clefts live in shame, but more importantly, have difficulty eating, breathing and speaking. Cleft repair surgery not only provides a child with a new smile, but also a fresh opportunity for a full and productive life. Smile Train is dedicated to generating awareness of the issues faced by children living with untreated clefts in the developing world.
