Smile Train Joins Baby Phat® in LA to Celebrate World Smile Day®
We brought the stars out to spread the word: #AllSmilesAreBeautiful
With October 1, World Smile Day®, and National Bullying Prevention Month coinciding this year, Smile Train pulled out all the stops to get the message across: #AllSmilesAreBeautiful. First, we partnered with entrepreneur and fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons and her Baby Phat® clothing line to design an exclusive, limited-edition All Smiles Are Beautiful t-shirt, with all net proceeds going towards Smile Train’s programs supporting mental health care for children with clefts all over the world.
Then, we launched it in style, with an invite-only bash on NOBU LA’s swank outdoor patio in the heart of West Hollywood hosted by Kimora herself and generously sponsored by TEOMA Global; Snow®, an award-winning at-home teeth-whitening solution; and POPsocial.

The evening commenced with a red-carpet moment where guests including Jordin Sparks, Raven-Symoné, Nia Sioux, Sommer Ray, Jonathan Daviss, Maejor, Yovanna Ventura, Yris Palmer, Shanina Shaik, Prince Jackson, and hairstylist Glen Coco proudly showcased the exclusive shirt while enjoying tray-passed hors d'oeuvres, a signature cocktail featuring Kástra Elión Vodka and RUMOR Rosé, beats by Red Cup Nation, and a fun photo booth by POPsocial.
“I’m excited for Baby Phat to join the All Smiles Are Beautiful Campaign with Smile Train, an organization that has made such a difference in the lives of so many children and families across the globe,” Kimora said. “As a mother of five, my heart breaks for the children affected by health issues that coincide with being born with a cleft, and the bullying that often accompanies it. Now, more than ever, it is so important to help others in whatever way we can, and I’m proud to be able to give back through this campaign.”
Far too many people around the world have been bullied or faced other social stigma just because they were born with a cleft. These early traumatic experiences can leave children with poor self-esteem and other mental health issues that can follow them for life. That’s why, at Smile Train, we believe that everyone with a cleft deserves access to psychosocial support from experts specially trained in meeting their unique needs.
