Far too many people around the world have been bullied or faced other social stigma just because they were born with a cleft. These early traumatic experiences can leave lasting effects such as poor self-esteem and other mental health issues.
Smile Train believes that everyone with a cleft deserves access to psychosocial support from experts specially trained in meeting their unique needs. That’s why we’ve developed a plan for growing this essential service at our partner hospitals around the world, with the long-term goal of giving everyone the resources they need to be healthy and feel safe and supported.
