Emily McAuliffe
Senior Director, Direct Marketing
Emily McAuliffe serves as Senior Director of Direct Marketing, where she leads Smile Train’s direct response fundraising programs. She joined Smile Train in 2016, after making a shift from the for-profit sector, where she held analytic and marketing roles in the healthcare space.
In her current role, she oversees Smile Train’s mass-scale, individual giving channels in both the US and Germany, including direct mail, direct response television, digital fundraising, and telemarketing, in addition to managing the organization’s sustainer program. In just five years, her team has greatly multiplied Smile Train’s TV and digital advertising presence, and she personally oversaw the production of a 360-degree virtual reality film featuring two Smile Train patients in India, which has been used in canvassing, events, conferences, and donor meetings.
In 2019, Emily visited Smile Train’s cleft programs in the Philippines, where she met with patients and their families, witnessed speech therapy sessions, and scrubbed in on a cleft surgery, further solidifying her passion for the transformative effects of cleft treatment and the benefits of Smile Train’s sustainable, local model.
Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Policy and Management and an MBA with a focus in Non-Profit Organization Management, both from Providence College.
