Smile Train is a global charity that empowers local medical professionals to provide free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care to children in need. Through training local doctors and supporting partner hospitals around the world, we advance a sustainable solution and scalable model for treating clefts that drastically improve children’s lives, including their ability to eat, breathe, and speak.

Friday, Nov 19, 2021 | Travel to Kijabe to participate in Smile Train-supported speech camp |
Saturday, Nov 20, 2021 | Morning patient visits in Nairobi followed by travel to Makueni |
Sunday, Nov 21, 2021 | Full day visit at Smile Train partner hospital and patient home visits. In the afternoon, the group will visit patients' homes before traveling to Amboseli National Park. Overnight at Kibo Safari Camp. |
Monday, Nov 22, 2021 | Embark on a full-day game drive through Amboseli National Park. In the evening, enjoy traditional Masaai singing and dancing around the bonfire, before the group’s final Farewell Dinner. |
Tuesday, Nov 23, 2021 | Transfer to the airport for your international departure -OR- onward for an extension trip. |
Smile Train in Kenya
We established our first partnerships in Kenya in 2002 and rapidly expanded our reach in 2007. Since then, our local medical partners there have provided 9,000+ free, high-quality cleft surgeries. We currently partner with 35 Kenyan cleft surgeons working in 27 partner hospitals.
