Smile Train in Guatemala
Smile Train established its first hospital partnership in Guatemala in 2007. Since then, our local medical partners there have provided nearly 4,000 free, high-quality cleft surgeries. We currently partner with six Guatemalan cleft practitioners working at three regional medical centers.
Partner Hospital Visits
Smile Train’s medical partners around the world provide free, safe, and quality cleft care for children in need. During the Journey of Smiles, participants will visit local partner treatment centers, meet with Smile Train partner surgeons, and encounter the lifesaving work they make possible.
Patient Home Visits
When a child receives a cleft surgery, the benefits ripple across their entire community. On this Journey of Smiles, you will have the opportunity to visit the homes of several Smile Train patients and their families, where you will hear, firsthand, the impact Smile Train has had on their lives.
