Smile Train Teaches Jesus’s Family that “Anything is Possible”
This future electrical engineer has a smile to brighten any room
Meet Jesus, a happy, bright 13-year-old from Mexico who was born with a cleft.
Jesus and his family connected with Hospital para el Niño, their local Smile Train partner, when he was just five months old.
“The doctor recommended Smile Train to us so that they could pay for my son’s treatment,” explains his mother, Guadalupe.
Thanks to Smile Train’s donors, the local cleft team was able to provide Jesus’s cleft surgery and speech therapy sessions completely free for his family!
Jesus’s father, Nazario, gets choked up when he talks about the life-changing effect it had.
“I don’t have the words,” he says with a shaky voice. The lesson he took from Jesus’ cleft care experience? “Anything is possible.”
“Thank you, Smile Train, for helping me with my treatments!” Jesus says.
Jesus likes going for walks, fishing, and riding his bike. His favorite game is soccer with his friends and cousins.
