Smile Train supporters around the globe embodied the World Smile Day® 2018 theme ‘I Create Smiles’ and raised the funds to change the lives of 420 children forever. Thanks to everyone who donated and helped us celebrate around the world. Here are just a few highlights from the smile-filled day:
Americas Cleft Week helped raise awareness for children with clefts across the region and hundreds of children received their forever smiles.>
World Smile Day® coincided with Smile Train Africa’s 100,000th cleft surgery milestone and WSD events were held across the continent.
There were celebrations in North Asia, South East Asia, and China.
The ‘I Create Smiles’ exhibit in New York City’s Herald Square, featured interactive exhibits, games, and virtual reality.
Smile Train’s Young Leadership Circle held events in LA, NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, and New Orleans.
Social posts from celebrity supporters Christie Brinkley, Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere, Karrueche Tran, Lucy Hale, Kenyan Drake, Jimmy Pardo (and many more) helped us reach 4.7 million people on social media.
Smile Train corporate partners Wheatley Plaza, Good Day Chocolate, Labrada Nutrition, Candid Co., Best Orthodontics Seminar & Sessions (BOSS), Beverly Hills MD, and Lookalu all held WSD initiatives. In the first year of a five-year partnership with Smile Train, GSK Consumer Healthcare celebrated World Smile Day® in events across the globe.
