Smile Train Joins Kenyan and Philippines Ministries of Health and Global Surgery Stakeholders at WHA Side Event to Accelerate Progress Towards Surgical Equity in UHC
On May 23rd, the Kenyan and Philippines Ministries of Health, in partnership with Smile Train, KidsOR, the Henry Family Advised Fund, COSECSA, the G4 Alliance, and West African College of Surgeons, hosted a WHA side event to galvanize action towards the integration of surgical care as a necessary component of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Through support from the Australian Embassy, Smile Train China has received direct aid program funding to help provide cleft treatment for 144 patients in need in China– ensuring every one of these beneficiaries has the best opportunity for long-term success.

Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft organization announced its partnership with the American Heart Association (AHA). Smile Train is accredited as an International Training Center by the American Heart Association and will be offering Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to medical professionals at its partner hospitals.
