Brian Mullaney
Co-Founder and President
Brian Mullaney is Co-Founder and President of Smile Train.
Brian has been involved with various surgery-related children's charities for more than 20 years.
In 1990, Brian started a children’s charity in New York City that provided free plastic surgery for hundreds of indigent children.
In 1999, after serving for 5 years on the board of Operation Smile, Brian and his Co-Founder Charles Wang each resigned to start Smile Train.
For the past two decades, Brian has traveled hundreds of thousands of miles to visit many of the poorest countries in the world including: Afghanistan, China, India, Vietnam, Gaza Strip, Brazil, Bangladesh, Inner Mongolia, Haiti, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia.
On these trips Brian has met with thousands of children who suffer with cleft lip and palate as well as with thousands of surgeons and other medical professionals.
Brian has a degree in business economics from Harvard University and worked in advertising for more than 25 years. He co-founded Schell/Mullaney advertising in 1990, a high-tech marketing agency which was sold in 1996 to CKS, America's first publicly-held, interactive advertising agency.
Brian lives on Long Island, New York and is married to Cricket Mullaney. They have three children: Maura, Charlie and Quinn.
