Smile Train Supporter Jo Carthew Carried the Olympic Torch

Tonight, as the Olympic Torch ignites the Olympic Flame at the Opening Ceremony, it holds an extra special significance to the Smile Train Community. Last May, as the Olympic Torch Relay passed through Kidderminster, it was carried by Smile Train supporter Jo Carthew from Breathe Holistic Therapy.

Jo and her coworkers at Breathe Holistic Therapy have been raising funds to give desperate children the cleft lip and palate surgery their families could never afford. For all of her amazing charitable contributions, both to Smile Train and her own community, Jo was recognized and chosen for the great honor of carrying the Torch.

We can't thank Jo and and everyone at Breathe Holistic Therapy enough for their support and hard work. And as we tune in to watch the Olympics, the Smile Train family, from patients and staff to doctors and donors, can look on with an extra smile, knowing that every day we are providing more than 300 life-changing free cleft surgeries and that a member of our family was recognized for making that possible.
