Gorakhpur, India — 7 years after providing their first Smile Train sponsored free cleft surgery, Dr. Asif Masood and his team at Savitri Hospital certainly have a lot of reasons to smile. 5,610 to be exact.

Dr. Masood's team recently celebrated their 7th Anniversary as a Smile Train Partner. In the last 7 years, the team has provided 5,610 free cleft lip and palate surgeries. Each one a modern-day-miracle that has transformed the life of a patient who would otherwise never be able to afford cleft surgery.

The team prepared a special anniversary cake complete, but the real celebration came in the operating room throughout the day as even more patients received free cleft surgery and a second chance at life.
