The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Raise $51,000 for Smile Train
New York, NY — Recently the Catholic Daughters of the Americas held their 54th Biennial National Convention in Omaha, Nebraska. The theme of this year’s convention was Don’t sweat the small stuff. Have a great attitude and a smile. Be open minded, but most of all, have fun.
Made up of 75,000 members from local chapters in 45 states, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas have been supporting Smile Train since 2008 and has provided over 600 free surgeries. This year, they have continued to extend their incredible support for children suffering with unrepaired clefts by donating an astonishing $51,000.
In New York, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Second Vice National Regent Olga Samaniego, National Regent Elect Shirley Seyfried, National Regent Anne Nelson, First Vice National Regent Helene Shepard and National Secretary Treasurer Sherry Nilles presented the donation to Smile Train Director of Donor Engagement Troy Reinhart and Development Associate Samantha Johnston.
"Everyone here at Smile Train is deeply appreciative to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for their generous support over the years. Not only have they helped over 600 children with the gift of a new smile, but they have given the opportunity for these children to live a long and healthy prosperous life. Thank you again for changing the world one smile at a time," said Troy.
They support Smile Train because they love seeing how the life of a child is changed by a simple surgery and at such a low cost and we cannot thank them enough for their generosity and support.
