Vietnam is a densely-populated developing country that in the last 30 years has had to recover from the ravages of war. 38% of the population lives off less than $2 a day. People living in the remote areas of the country have difficulties traveling to the larger urban areas where facilities exist to provide cleft care - this poses a difficult challenge that Smile Train has tackled so that we can reach those most in need.
